Operation Christmas Child

occ-header-graphic-mops_10_2014As a MOPS Mom, you seize teachable moments. Operation Christmas Child can help create those moments as you seek to teach your kids about helping others.

As your children help select simple gifts and pack a shoebox for a boy or girl their age, they learn to think about others rather than themselves. “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

Children who receive shoebox gifts and hear the Gospel are eager to share the message of God’s love with their parents and siblings, paving the way for entire families to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has had the privilege of delivering more than 124 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories.

Izabella was 13, living in an impoverished village in Romania, when received an Operation Christmas Child gift box. Growing up without any real possessions of her own, Izabella was overwhelmed to learn that all the gifts in the box were for her. “I couldn’t believe it was for me and it was free,” she said. “I’ll never forget how I felt that day.”
